Earthenware jam jar is square with rounded corners and is decorated with green, yellow, blue, and maroon floral designs on a white background. The top rim of the jam jar is gold. The back of the jar is white with purple, green, gold and black text that reads: "Summertime / ROYAL WINTON / GRIMWADES / ENGLAND / 775 11 / 14." The jar comes with a metal lid with a slot for the serving spoon and a knob handle at its center. On the bottom of the lid is a symbol with maple leaves and the letter C. Also on the bottom of the lid is the text "MADE IN CANADA / 701." The jar dates from around 1930. Mary Eloise Green of Columbus, Ohio, donated this jam jar in 1999. The donor purchased the item in Canada.
