Segment Synopsis: Schultice was raised in Byesville, Ohio calling it the greatest place in the world to grow up. Segment Synopsis: Schultice entered meat cutting school right out of high school. He moved to New Washington, Ohio for his first job, but his very first letter from home was his draft notice. Segment Synopsis: For the last nine months of service Schultice was transferred to Fort Hayes, which was in the process of being closed. He talks about his duties at Fort Hayes where he cooked for the base commander, helped move equipment to Fort Devens in Massachusetts, and escorted bodies back to Ohio. The base commander often entertained and Schultice credits this time to learning the finer elements of food service. He also discusses his brother who was wounded and the difficulties surrounding his condition and treatment.
