6.2 Intrusive Mound Picks
Description
Stone "picks" are linked with the Intrusive Mound culture. Shaped from hard stone, but showing no signs of wear-, "picks" are assumed to have had a ceremonial function. They may also have been blades for special tomahawks or war clubs. Similar weapons were made by the Iroquois Indians in the early 1600s. Catalog Number: , A0154/000001, Image Number: AL07170
