In Memoriam                  559

State. In financial circles he had attained success and a

creditable record. He was a trusted counselor and a

man whose judgment was highly regarded by his fel-

low members on the Board of Trustees and the staff of

the Society.

Mr. Wood was born in Bradford County, Pennsyl-

vania, October 3, 1863. In 1879 he came to Columbus

where he was subsequently identified with different

financial institutions. In 1922 he was made General

Manager of the Ohio State Savings Association and had

since that date held this position. Through his entire

residence in Columbus he had been an enthusiastic and

efficient worker in the Congregational Church. He is

survived by his widow, Mrs. Jessie B. (McKim) Wood

and a granddaughter Jessie Marie Wood.

At this meeting his sudden departure is especially

felt as it comes so close to the date at which he planned

to be with us again.

Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be for-

warded to his wife and granddaughter as an evidence of

our respect and sincere sympathy in their sudden and

sad bereavement.

Leaves have their time to fall,

And flowers to wither at the north wind's breath,

And stars to set,--but all,

Thou hast all seasons for thine own, O Death!

Thou art where billows foam,

Thou art where music melts upon the air;

Thou art around us in our peaceful home,

And the world calls us forth--and thou art there.
