The Newark Earthworks, spread over more than 4 square miles, was the largest enclosure built by the Hopewell culture. The maps were originally drawn in the 1840s. Unfortunately, since that time, many of these enclosures have been destroyed by urban development. Image Number: SquierDavisPlateXXV
