Title

5b.2 Seip Earthworks Complex

Description

The Seip Earthworks complex is one of several Hopewell earthworks in the Paint Creek valley of Ross County. Why the Hopewell culture chose this valley for some of its earthworks, and presumably its villages, is the subject of much current research. Perhaps one factor was the rich supply of food provided by the five major forest zones in the region. Image Number: SquierDavisPlateXXIno2
