Letter stating that he was returning the form filled out for John Flannagan, Private, 72nd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, that Flannagan bore a furlough according to which he had been furnished with subsistence to June 22, 1862, that Flannagan was therefore entitled to pay from November 25, 1861 and subsistence allowance from June 22 to time of discharge, that Flannagan having been mustered for pay commutation, etc., he wished to know if it would be necessary for Flannagan to present himself at Columbus, that Flannagan preferred getting his pay and discharge sent to Ashtabula, and that Flannagan was willing to enter service again if consistent with his own safety (that is, not liable to suffer if taken prisoner again by the South); and asking if Flannagan should remain in the 72nd Regiment, Ohio Volunteer Infantry getting leave of absence of a few weeks, or if he should get discharged and enter for a new service more consistent with his parole.
